What is happening
Sometimes the WordPress editor stops responding and your changes aren’t saved.
What you can try first
- Refresh the page
- Try another browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
- Log out and log back in
- Clear your browser cache
Contact TDN Support if:
- Changes still do not save
- You see error messages
- You cannot update any pages
What TDN will handle
- Replicate and debug the issue.
- Provide a report as to why it is happening.
- Is there a plugin conflict, theme conflict, etc.
- Restore proper saving functionality
What is happening
You made changes to a page or blog post and clicked Update, but when you view the page on the website, the changes do not appear.
This can happen because of:
- Browser cache
- Website cache
- The page not updating properly
- Editing the wrong page version
- Page builder not saving correctly
Before contacting the technical support team, please try the steps below.
Step 1 — Refresh the Page
Sometimes the browser is showing an older version of the page.
Try a hard refresh.
Windows: CTRL + F5
Mac: CMD + SHIFT + R
Then reload the page to check if the changes appear.
Step 2 — Clear Your Browser Cache
Your browser may still be loading an old version of the page.
Chrome / Edge
- Click the three dots in the top right
- Click Settings
- Go to Privacy and Security
- Click Clear browsing data
- Select Cached images and files
- Click Clear Data
Then reload your website.
Step 3 — Make Sure the Page Was Actually Updated
Sometimes the update button is clicked but the page does not finish saving.
- Go to WordPress Dashboard
- Click Pages or Posts
- Open the page again
- Make a small change (example: add a space)
- Click:
Update
Wait until the message appears:
Page updated
Step 4 — Check If You Are Editing the Correct Page
Some websites have multiple versions of a page.
For example:
- Home
- Homepage
- Home Page Draft
Make sure the page you edited is the same page that appears on the website.
To confirm:
- Visit the page on the website
- Copy the page title
- Search for that title in Pages inside the dashboard.
Step 5 — Try Another Browser or Incognito Mode
Open the page in:
- Incognito / Private window
- Another browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari)
If the changes appear there, the issue is likely browser cache related.
If You Are Using Elementor
Sometimes Elementor changes do not save properly.
Try this:
- Open the page with Edit with Elementor
- Click Update
- Wait for the message:
Updated
Then:
- Go to WordPress Dashboard
- Click Elementor
- Click Tools
- Click
Regenerate Files & Data
Refresh the page afterward.
If You Are Using Divi
Try saving the page again using the Divi builder.
- Open the page with Enable Visual Builder
- Click the purple menu button
- Click:
Save
Wait until the builder confirms the page was saved.
Then reload the page.
Step 6 — Check If the Issue Happens on Other Pages
Try editing another page or post.
Ask yourself:
- Do changes save on other pages?
- Or does the issue happen everywhere?
This helps identify if the issue is page-specific or site-wide.
If the Issue Is Still Not Fixed
Please send the following information to the technical support team:
- Page URL
- Screenshot of the change you made
- Screenshot of the page after updating
- Page builder used (Classic Editor, Elementor, or Divi)
- Time when the issue occurred
This will help the support team diagnose the issue quickly.
