I accidentally deleted a page

What is happening

The page may be in Trash.

What you can try first

• Go to Pages > Trash
• Restore the page

What is happening

You may have accidentally deleted a page while editing your website. When this happens, the page will usually be moved to the Trash, not permanently deleted.

The good news is that in most cases, the page can be restored easily.

Before contacting the technical support team, please try the steps below.

Step 1 — Check the Trash Folder

When a page is deleted in WordPress, it is first moved to the Trash.

• Log in to your WordPress Dashboard
• Click Pages
• At the top of the page list, click Trash

You should see a list of deleted pages.

Step 2 — Restore the Deleted Page

• Find the page you want to restore
• Hover your mouse over the page title
• Click Restore

The page will be moved back to your Pages list.

Step 3 — Check the Page on the Website

Once restored:

• Go back to Pages
• Open the page
• Click Update

Then visit your website to confirm the page is visible again.

Step 4 — Check If the Page Is Published

Sometimes restored pages return as Draft instead of Published.

• Open the page
• Look at the Status section on the right side
• Make sure the page status is set to Published

If not, click Publish.

Step 5 — Check the Website Menu

If the page still does not appear on the website, it may have been removed from the navigation menu.

• Go to Appearance
• Click Menus
• Find your restored page in the Pages list
• Add it back to the menu if needed
• Click Save Menu

Step 6 — Check the Page URL

If the page was previously linked elsewhere on the site:

• Open the page
• Click View Page
• Confirm the URL is still correct

You may need to update links on other pages if the URL changed.

If the Page Is Not in the Trash

If the page does not appear in the Trash folder, it may have been permanently deleted.

In this case, please contact the technical support team and provide:

• The name of the deleted page
• Approximate time when it was deleted
• The page URL, if known
• Screenshot of the Pages list

The support team may be able to restore the page from a website backup.

Helpful Tip

To avoid accidental deletion in the future, you can set a page to Draft instead of deleting it.

• Open the page
• Change the Status from Published to Draft
• Click Update

This removes the page from the public website without deleting it.
