Ever heard of a lead generation podcast?

Eventually business owners turn to this type of content marketing as part of their strategy to find new prospects, convert more leads and close more sales.

It makes total sense because articles, videos, podcasts, livecasts, webinars and whitepapers help you:

  • Position your expertise in your market
  • Provide value to your audience
  • Grow your audience through shareable content
  • Educate your prospects on why you are the best solution
  • Keeps you top of mind

As some of you may know I used to host a top ranked podcast, The Spiritual Voice, and worked with clients on their video content. Simply put, I’m writing from experience.

So how do you generate more leads from podcasts or videos? 

By publishing them in your blog.

WordPress and modern websites have tools for you to easily publish blogs which can be articles, audios and videos.

By publishing all of your podcast and video content on your website you set the wheels in motion for search engines such as Google, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo to send you free traffic and leads!

But there’s a catch!

You can’t simply embed your audio or video player in a blog post and call it a day.

You’ll want to either include a transcript and/or a full accompanying article. That’s because search engines still can’t detect what you are saying in your recordings so the written context allows their robots to understand what you said.

Bonus points if you edit the title of your blog post and insert a few keywords (search terms) in your post so that your written content matches what users are typing in the search engines.

Let’s recap how to create a lead generation podcast

  1. Record your video or podcast as usual
  2. User a tool such as Otter.ai to create a transcript or write an accompanying article
  3. Publish the video/podcast along with the write-up on your blog
  4. Bonus points: Use search terms in your blog post and title
